“I ended up having to use the ‘run as root’ version—not because my device is old or because I don’t know my way around a config, but because of a specific pathing issue. Since I sync parts of my home directories across desktops and laptops via QNAP, the standard version kept throwing errors on paths like /share/homes/user because it couldn’t create the /share directory. I definitely didn’t want to mess with changing the owner of /share just to fix that.
Still, 5 stars for the solid work and for bringing Syncthing to QNAP so perfectly!”
